Core Values

Here at Skyward, we believe that every dog is an individual. Each program is reflected on that belief. We use balanced training methods which includes using a variety in different rewards and training tools. We do use training collars such as prongs and e-collars to proof our behaviors once a rewards based foundation is laid down. We also believe in proper outlets to satisfy your dog’s natural drives and abilities and encourage our clients to get into a recreational dog sport. Boise has so many sports to check out; barn hunt, dock diving, flyball, agility, and rally, are just some of many fun family friendly sports found in the Treasure Valley. As well as actively researching the latest dog training methods and gaining experience, we are constantly improving our program and resources.
Every dog teaches us something new, we truly never stop learning.

Zelda - German Shepherd

Zelda is a female German Shepherd who has been Brittany’s right hand dog in the business. Born in 2015, Zelda has helped rehab many reactive dogs in her career and continues to be a valuable ambassador for what a dog can be when enough work is put in. With years of experience, Zelda is able to hold composure against some extreme behaviors. When Zelda isn’t working, she enjoys napping on the couch, chasing a ball, or occasionally herding goats. Zelda is nearing retirement and still helps with the business as an excellent demo dog.

Link - Siberian Husky

Link is a very bouncy and energetic husky. Link helps as a very useful dog distraction for client dogs that are easily distracted by hyperactive and loud dogs. In addition to being quite a character, Link excels at trick training and has been taught a variety of different behaviors, including bringing a soda from the fridge and closing the door behind him! Link was born in 2018 and was an engagement gift for Brittany. Although he is extremely obedient, due to behavioral quirks he is only used in the business under strict circumstances. When Link is not helping with the business, he can be found watching TV on the couch, running alongside a bicycle, or playing with the rest of the pack. He has multiple AKC trick titles and has completed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
